If you’re not in a hurry, a robotic dialer can be attached to the safe that automatically tries every possible combination. If that doesn’t work, drill a hole next to the lock, and insert your borescope to line up the notches by sight. This is what locksmiths call “manipulation,” and it’s considered the purest form of safecracking. As you turn the dial, try to feel and hear the notches lining up on the series of interlocking wheels inside. Put your stethoscope over the lock as if it were a heart.
